Our Story
Our Story: Two Paths, One Purpose
Sometimes, life has a funny way of bringing people together when you least expect it. For us, it happened in the hallways of a post-graduate analytic training institute. We were both deep in the demanding work of becoming mental health professionals, often the only ones seeing clients on Sundays, sharing quiet hellos and longer conversations that stretched into genuine connection.
It's a little like how therapy itself unfolds – a gradual unfolding, a deepening of understanding. Our classmates even noticed the spark before we did, playfully campaigning for us to see what was clearly there. As fate would have it, one "professional" coffee date later, our shared journey truly began.
From Shared Vision to Shared Space
We initially planned to keep our professional paths distinct from our personal lives. However, as our connection grew, so did a powerful realization: we shared more than just a passion for helping others. We shared a vision for how we could truly make a difference, together.
Our mutual love for exploratory and relational psychotherapy, and a deep fascination with the human psyche, led us to reimagine what therapy in Bergen County could be. We envisioned a space not for surface-level solutions, but for deep reflection, authentic connection, and transformative change. This isn't about chasing "perfection" but embracing progress – one honest step at a time.
Our rigorous training, steeped in both profound psychoanalytic theory and contemporary relational approaches, provided us with the essential tools to guide clients through life's most complex emotional terrains—including those navigating depression, anxiety, addiction, and eating disorders. More importantly, it solidified our clear conviction that true healing is a personalized journey, never a universal prescription.
